Starting on the engine

​It’s only a 998cc, a very early A version…..nearly 40 HP from factory. Let’s see what we can wind it up to as we rebuild!

On that basis we’ve taken the head off and visited Nick Swift @swiftune…..so helpful talking to Nick! Thanks for the time and advice, details of the build to follow.

In the meantime, the water ways look crusted and blocked but the cylinders have no scoring…phew! We’ve stripped the head down, cleared the passage ways at the gasket interface. Ready for clean up, reshaped combustion chamber, larger valves and opening up of the ports.
