Grindstone cowboys?

Started our first even grinding out of an engines head. We started with the combustion chamber as it is easier to get to. We also have the David Vizzard book to make a cut out template/guide.

I bought a grinder for my air compressor and some tungsten carbide bits to get us started.

Working to remove the inlet valve shrouding, so only working one side of each chamber, here's teh before.....

....and after about 30 mins we've removed the majority of the meat on two chambers...so nearly half way. Much quicker than I expected, especially as a first attempt.

Compare the left to the right hand chambers...just got to lay back the face of the cut away a bit and then use a stone bit to smooth and polish it a bit better.

It's a bit noisy work though!!
